The Netaji Nagar area of Kolkata witnessed a tragic incident on Thursday morning, with the discovery of a body in a local pond.
The deceased was identified as 40-year-old Joydeep Nand, who was last seen in the area two days prior to the discovery. Upon receiving information from locals, the police arrived at the scene and retrieved the body from the water. Medical professionals at the hospital later declared the victim dead.
Although it is believed that Nand may have taken his own life due to the burden of debt he carried, the police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of death. CCTV footage of the area is being examined to gather more information about the circumstances leading up to the tragedy. The police are also speaking to family members to gain insight into the victim's recent state of mind.
